THE ADVANTAGES OF TUBELESS WHEEL RIMS

Some of the benefits/reasons you would upgrade to tubeless rims from AF or S.I.P. (both products have the same high manufacturing and performance specifications).

The rims have been designed to be a direct replacement for standard Vespa /Lambretta wheel rims and should be fitted with a tubeless tyre. The lightweight single piece aluminium construction and machined finish offers a superior dimensional tolerance over the original two piece split steel design. On the road this translates into improved high speed stability, better grip and extended tyre life. The tubeless design incorporating the valve in the rim eliminates the torn-valve-blowout and pinched-tube punctures associated with tube split rims.

THE DIFFERENCES OF TUBELESS WHEEL RIMS

S.I.P. Vespa/LML and AF Lambretta tubeless rims are bolt on replacements. There no need to change hub studs and they come with all nuts and washers. S.I.P. Lambretta Tubeless Rims require the studs on the hub to be changed (all studs and nuts are supplied with the rims).

The need for specialist tyre fitting equipment for tubeless wheel rims makes road side repair more difficult and it is therefore far more advisable to carry a spare wheel.

GENERAL WHEEL AND TYRE MAINTENANCE

Your tyre pressures and tread depth should be checked as part of your regular scooter maintenance. You should also inspect tyre walls and ensure wheel nuts are tight.
